Scientific Software Engineer

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Scientific Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to ongoing client projects in Rotterdam.
As Scientific Software Engineer, your main tasks will include:
- Develop, test, and maintain scientific and technical software applications using Python and/or C++
- Implement numerical algorithms, simulations, and mathematical models into efficient and reliable code
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technical teams to translate research requirements into software solutions
- Analyse and process complex datasets, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of results
- Optimize code for performance, scalability, and high-performance computing environments
- Comfortable working in collaborative, agile teams, and hybrid setting
We are interested in engineers with experience in one or more of the following:
- Python
- C++ or C
- MATLAB or Julia
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲
- Completed Master’s Degree or PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science and a relevant degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Scientific Software Engineer or in a similar role within software development
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English. Dutch is a bonus
- Team player with a curious and eager-to-learn attitude
