Technical Writer – Apeldoorn – ALTEN Netherlands

The Position

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for Technical Writers to join our team and contribute to ongoing client projects in Apeldoorn/Hengelo.

• Create and updateuser manualsandmaintenance documentationinS1000D/XML formatfor complex mechanical and electronic devices.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments to gather accurate technical data and ensure documentation reflects current product configurations.
• Develop and edittechnical illustrationsusing appropriate CAD or illustration tools.
• Review and publish technical documents in accordance with internal and customer-specific quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with the S1000D documentation standard and other relevant regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of authoring processes and documentation quality.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in technical authoring, preferably in an industrial or defense-related context.
• Solid knowledge of theS1000Dstandard and its application in XML-based authoring environments.
• Strong technical background inelectricaland/ormechanicalengineering.
• Ability to interpret and explain complex systems and procedures clearly and accurately.
• Experience in thenaval or military industryis a strong advantage.
• Authoring Tools: WebX (preferred), or other XML-based tools such asArbortext,Oxygen XML Editor.
• Illustration Tools: CreoView, Isodraw, Adobe Illustrator, or similar2D/3D CADtools.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport (mandatory for security clearance).
