ISTQB – Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer

The ISTQB (Advanced) Test Automation Engineer training is intended for those who have ample experience in testing in general and who have specific knowledge of or are deeply interested in test automation. Test Automation Engineers do not only have the ability to design, develop and maintain test automation solutions, but also have sufficient knowledge and experience to help organisations and projects plot the right course. This training therefore focuses on both theory and practice, discussing, for instance, the architecture of the test automation solution as well as the practical aspects of implementing and transforming manual tests.

This 3-day training comprises the following topics:

• Test Automation
• Preparing for Test Automation
• The Generic Test Automation Architecture
• Deployment Risks and Contingencies
• Test Automation Reporting and Metrics
• Transitioning Manual Testing to an Automated Environment
• Verifying the Test Automation Solution
• Continuous Improvement

Practical examples are provided and exam questions equalling the level of those posed in the final exam are practiced during the training. The participants are expected to study on their own during the evening. Participants sit the exam on day 4.

In order to sit the exam, participants are required to produce their Foundation Level Certified Tester certificate.

Upon passing the exam, participants are awarded an internationally recognised certificate! Duration, number of participants and training location
The training comprises 3.5 days (including an exam). The maximum number of participants depends on where the training is provided, which can be on site at the client’s address or in one of our own training centers.
