The function
As an Electrical Design Engineer at ALTEN, you use your electrical engineering specialism to develop and implement electronics in advanced machine platforms.
In this role you work on various industrial developments for advanced machine platforms. Your work can vary from E-architecture to PCB design, cabling and connectors and coordination with other disciplines. The most important design tasks consist of PCBA design in Altium. Our projects can be purely electrical, but you are often the expert in the electrical field in a multidisciplinary team. Within our projects you know how to convert requirements into feasible specifications and then design a product or system.
Projects
With our Design Team we are amongst other things working on an electronics design for an advanced machine platform. In the project team, which you could potentially become a part of, full responsibility is expected for all electronics in the machine. This varies from the E-architecture to PCB design, firmware, cabling and connectors and coordination with a mechanics team. The most important design tasks consist of PCBA design in Altium. Depending on your experience and ambition, there is also the option of outsourcing development and guiding suppliers on a technical level. Some experience in high-tech mechanical engineering will help you quickly master this project.
Your profile
Education
- You have a completed education at HBO/WO level in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
Experience
You have experience with and knowledge of:
- Embedded electronics, FPGAs, power electronics, PCB design or electromechanics
- Design software such as Eagle, Altium.
- Program in C, Verilog or VHDL
Optional
It's not a requirement, but you have an advantage if you:
- Have experience with design software such as E-plan and/or Zuken.
- Can program in Python and/or C++
- Have knowledge of mechanical systems and design
