As a Software Architect at ALTEN you focus on three components, being: Technology, Business and People. You still enjoy developing software, keep a close eye on the technical possibilities and you are committed to guaranteeing the quality within a project.
You have the technical leadership of a team and focus on all facets of software development. You are responsible for the software architecture, create and maintain the technical roadmap, initiate improvements and coach designers and software engineers in your team. In addition, you are in regular contact with stakeholders to coordinate requirements and possible solutions. For each question there are different solutions with all their pros and cons. It is up to you to advise on these and create a plan.
Who are we looking for?
You still consider it fun and challenging to develop software and you oversee the entire development process, from requirement engineering to testing. You have extensive experience with multiple methods and techniques, such as UML, Design patterns, architectural patterns, high performance computing, requirement engineering and test engineering. In addition, you have proven experience in managing stakeholders and are able to make a tradeoff at both technical and project management level. Besides your excellent helicopter view, you can also go more into depth when needed.
You dare to make your choices based on experience and insight, listening carefully to the contribution of different stakeholders. You have a 'can-do' mentality in which you have a realistic view of the technical possibilities for a project and you are able to bring parties together. Being able to always justify why you make a certain choice puts you in a strong position as a Software Architect.
Other than that, you have:
- A completed technical education at HBO or WO level;
- At least 1 year of experience as a software architect and at least 10 years of (recent) experience in technical software development;
- Extensive knowledge of C, C++, .Net, Python and advanced knowledge of real-time software development;
- Work experience with Windows/Linux development environments;
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
What can you expect from us?
ALTEN offers a technically challenging environment where you can make a difference through the diversity of projects. In addition, we believe that as an engineer you never stop learning, which is why we offer you the opportunity to further develop yourself both personally and professionally. Within our ALTEN Academy we offer trainings that match your ambitions.
As a Senior Engineer, you can take on a prominent role in the team. This can be done, for example, by actively participating in sharing knowledge, supervising and coaching students or Junior Engineers, or by increasing opportunities for ALTEN.
If, after the interviews, it turns out that you and ALTEN are a good match, we will immediately offer you a permanent contract. As we expect our consultants to be mobile, we offer you the choice between a lease car or a mobility allowance. In addition, we offer a good salary and a standard net expense allowance. We think it's important that you also have time to relax, that's why we give you 27 days off. Not enough? Then you can buy 10 more. You don't have to worry about your pension; we arrange that for you with a non-contributory pension scheme.
In order to shape your ambitions, you will be linked to both a Business Manager and a Technical Manager. Together you determine the course of your career.
ALTEN works as a consultancy and engineering organization in various (niche) markets of the high-tech sector and IT. Knowledge in the field of technology plays an important role, which is the central pillar within ALTEN.
