As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at ALTEN, you use your knowledge to work on innovative projects. You know how to develop software in a structured way and how to deal with the limitations of a hardware platform. You work together in a (multidisciplinary) team and are able to communicate clearly about the progress of the project and possible obstacles.
You work on challenging projects within different sectors, allowing you to constantly develop yourself. You are the specialist in the field of embedded software development and your input is therefore essential for a successful completion of a project.
Who are we looking for?
You are a Senior Embedded Software Engineer and because of your extensive experience you can carry out projects independently. You take on technical leadership by coaching and technically managing team members. In addition, you know how to maintain the balance between quality and project budget, and you are happy to take on an advisory role when it comes to making technical decisions.
Besides programming, you have an interest in the related aspects. For example, you can think of automatic testing and the use of tooling such as Jenkins, GIT or the Atlassian stack. Performance issues on embedded hardware (platforms) keep you focused and you know how to deal with the limitations of a hardware platform.
Other than that, you have:
- Obtained a technical degree at HBO or WO level;
- At least 5 years of experience with programming in C and C++;
- Experience with various hardware platforms, such as Embedded Linux and Bare-metal systems;
- Sufficient knowledge of electronics to develop solid device drivers and network interfaces;
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
What can you expect from us?
ALTEN offers a technically challenging environment where you can make a difference through the diversity of projects. In addition, we believe that as an engineer you never stop learning, which is why we offer you the opportunity to further develop yourself both personally and professionally. Within our ALTEN Academy we offer trainings that match your ambitions.
As a Senior Engineer, you can take on a prominent role in the team. This can be done, for example, by actively participating in sharing knowledge, supervising and coaching students or Junior Engineers, or by increasing opportunities for ALTEN.
If, after the interviews, it turns out that you and ALTEN are a good match, we will immediately offer you a permanent contract. As we expect our consultants to be mobile, we offer you the choice between a lease car or a mobility allowance. In addition, we offer a good salary and a standard net expense allowance. We think it's important that you also have time to relax, that's why we give you 27 days off. Not enough? Then you can buy 10 more. You don't have to worry about your pension; we arrange that for you with a non-contributory pension scheme.
In order to shape your ambitions, you will be linked to both a Business Manager and a Technical Manager. Together you determine the course of your career.
